Motion 26-4: Addressing the 2026 ACA Ballot Proposals

Proposed by Jim R

Issue:

I propose that we use our website platform as a space to gather and discern our group conscience regarding the 2026 Ballot of proposals produced by ACA World Service.

Background:

Every year the ACA World Service Organization offers, in the form of a Ballot, the suggestions submitted by groups from around the globe. These ballot items address issues relevant to ACA as a whole. All ACA groups are asked to render a group conscience decision for each Proposal asking, “Does this issue merit discussion at the Annual Business Conference (ABC)? Should it be placed on the conference agenda?”

Please use this form to indicate your choice:

  • Yes, add it to the agenda;
  • No, do not add it to the agenda; or
  • I have no opinion.

The complete ballot with all the issues and background can be found here:

NOTE:

An anonymous member painstakingly went through the proposals and has offered their insights in this ORIENTATION Document. It may assist your efforts.

ALSO NOTE:

This year produced an unprecedented number of Ballot proposals. We may also want to comment on the process itself. A question at the bottom of the form asks:

Would you like to see the following statement added as a comment from our group: “The Ballot Process that leads to consideration of 29 Proposals needs to be quickly repaired.”

A simple majority will determine the outcome for each proposal.

Thank you for participating

    Thank you, Brian eM for pointing out the problem.
    Apologies to everyone for the confusion and frustration that was caused. Happily, the are still 10 days during which you may comment here and consider offering an opinion on the form, above.
